History of Whitney & Gore Financial Services:

Whitney Tax Service was started in 1969 by Bill and Nancy Whitney for the preparation of individual tax returns. By 1973 the business operated on a full time basis and had expanded to include bookkeeping service and preparation of all forms of business returns.

The business was computerized in 1980 for bookkeeping and in 1985 for return preparation. Electronic filing of returns started in 1986 and has been available since that time.

Operation of the business was from Bill and Nancy's home until another office was added in 1983. In 1996 the entire operation was moved to route 9 in Framingham, and the name was changed to Whitney Financial Services due to their offering financial planning.

Bill and Nancy retired in 1997 and moved to Florida. Robert Whitney and Michael Gore purchased the business in 1997. The business was then incorporated and the name was changed to Whitney & Gore Financial Services, Inc.
